Re: Huddersfield v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
In the first half Fab tipped one onto the bar, then another one beat him hit the inside of the post bounced back across the line and clipped the outside of the other post. Fab also saved a one on one. They could have gone in at half time 4-1 if we're honest.

Second half we were better and we should have scored a couple, but the game is for 90 minutes. We have form for this, Brighton for a start....

A measly point against Huddersfield the relegation favourites hopefully we'll have a decent January window, we need it.

Interested to see what a fit Carroll or player of his type would bring us against a side like Huddersfield.

Reckon he’d have started today if fit.

The doomsday merchants forget to mention
..
Their goal was a deflection off Rice' s leg...
Anderson"s header was headed off the line with Keeper beaten...
A rnie not fit
mostly ineffective...

Some appalling defending in the first 30 minutes and Huddersfield could have been 3-0 up by half time

Not good enough

WHUDeano~

I agree entirely with your summing up & perfect player ratings but disagree that it was a decent performance

I thought we were disappointing for long periods. They worked harder than us, they were always first to the ball & always first to pick up the second ball & hence never allowed us to play on the front foot

Huddersfield did well considering that they have a team of hard working yet relatively mediocre players & if they had anyone that could shoot straight would have probably buried us

That said I think we did just enough to manage a draw against a side we should really be beating

Good summary from Deano. A point was decent for us.

Worrying about Antonio. He really is a thick cunt. When he first arrived, he was hungry and willing to learn. Now he think he’s Billy Big Bollocks, but just doesn’t realise his career is now on the slide and he’ll end up back in the Championship. Everyone can see he’s crap.

'if you want to visualise how the West Ham way could have been just watch Man City,'

It still could be, we just need someone to spend near on a billion quid on players.

Re: Huddersfield v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
I thought it was a decent performance given that we had Snodgrass in centre midfield for a fair amount of the game. Pellegrini took some massive risks and properly went for it, won us a point with his changes and could and probably should have won us the three points. They did have chances though and overall a draw was probably a fair result.

While waiting for the Bellew fight, for what it's worth, here's my player ratings:

Fabianski 5: iffy. His worst game for us, looked a bit shaky, probably should have done better with the goal and was lucky to get away without scoring an own goal after being caught out by a mis hit cross.

Zabaleta 5: After a couple games where rolled back the years and at times was even reminiscent of Julian Dicks, he looked tired today and was rightly subbed for the younger, fresher man in Fredericks.

Creswell 5: Much like Antonio, he looks finished as a top level Premier League player. Complacent, laboured, ineffective and needs to be moved on and replaced before next season.

Diop 6: One or two lapses in concentration but still oozed quality, the best young centre half we've had since Rio.

Balbuena 7: The bargain of the season continues to impress, what a signing - calm, composed and only 27. As he settles into the culture and language he could easily become one of the best centre halves in the prem.

Rice 6: Sloppy at times, looked a bit complacent at first and needs to ensure he doesn't start believing his own press. Recovered as the game went on and single handedly controlled the central midfield when Pellegrini went all in for the last 20mins.

Obiang 5: Similar story to Rice but never really improved and was eventually subbed - much to his annoyance. A good squad player but probably an area that will need an upgrade at the end of the season.

Snodgrass 6: Slow, sloppy at times, but a grafter and always shows for the ball. A ridiculous replacement for Payet, but a very good squad player.

Anderson 6: One of the most frustrating players we've seen in modern times. His body language is awful, half the time he looks like he genuinely couldn't care less. But then he produces a moment of magic and scores with a beautiful finish. He could be one of the best in Europe, but there is a reason why he's 25 and playing for us - despite scoring, he needs to do more.

Diangana 6: Tough game for him against a physical Huddersfield constantly pressing in the first half. I thought he was one of our better players and was unlucky to be taken off for Hernandez at half time...one cross field pass he made was sensational, as was his through ball for Arnie in the first 5 mins.

Arnie 5: One of his poorer displays since moving into the number 9 position, though to be fair he looked a bit lost once Pellegrini moved him into a free role and used Hernandez as the main front man. Should have scored in the first 5 mins, tried to be a bit too clever, but as the season progresses, it is clear that he is, without doubt, our key man.

Subs:
Hernandez 6: Looked lively for once and was unlucky not to score.

Antonio 4: Worst player on the pitch, unfit, greedy, selfish and looks completely done as a top level player. Will move on to a bottom 6 team and do ok but looks finished as a West Ham player.

Fredericks 6: Looked ok - quick and sharp, but not involved enough to make much of an impact.

Small wonder the big boys want a breakaway Euro league, there is so much shite in Premiership.
Let's be honest if you want to visualise how the West Ham way could have been just watch Man City, football how it should be played.
We are permanently among the also rans, we go to fucking Brighton and Huddersfield and react like we are playing Barcelona, just hopeless

Did anyone else notice Obiang going straight down the tunnel shaking his head as if he shouldn't have been subbed? That's the way it looked to me, he needs to be a squad player, he was probably our worse player, although ordinarily I like him he is too inconsistent. I think there was rumours of Pelle selling him in the summer and him saying he would like to go back to Sampdoria I think and bringing some better quality in as a replacement. Pelle obviously didn't rate him or Kouyate from day one and I make him right.

I think we would be a different team with a tough tackling good passing young energetic DM/CM.

Our midfield is our weakest point along with our LB and RB. Noble and Zab will be too slow and old next season if not already and Wheelchair will be another Carroll.

We have gone behind in 7 of our 12 league games.
Today was the first time we have equalised and got something from the game.

Re: Huddersfield v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
Anyone who thinks we have a right to get more than a point at Huddersfield just because hasn’t been watching us these past few years.

Inconsistency strikes again, by the sounds of things key players just didn’t turn up (Arnie & Rice + Diop and Balbuena in the first half) when you couple that with players who have lost all ability they once seemed to have like; Cresswell and Antonio you’re in for a tough afternoon.

We’re still massively a work in progress and hopefully the manager can do some work in the next window to shift some deadwood!

Luckily we were poor and still came away with a point. Who knows what will happen against City, but if we can average 4 points every 2 games for the next 8 we’ll be doing okay come the new year.

Re: Huddersfield v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-1
lucky to get a draw.

A better side would have walked all over us and won by 3 or 4, we give the ball away to easily and are complacent at times, work in progress thats for sure.
